Xiaomi brings its high-end, cheap brand to Spain

Pocophone F1 includes the latest specifications of the market for just over 300 euros

They have not yet reached the Spanish stores, but Xiaomi has already turned upside down the smartphone market in the Iberian Peninsula. The Chinese brand already has a 14.1% market share in Spain and already looks closely at its compatriot Huawei and knocks on the door of the powerful Samsung.

Now, the battle is fought in the low cost brands. Honor, the cheapest Huawei brand, has a new rival, PocoPhone. Xiaomi's company arrives in Europe from September and does so with a price that is hard to match in the high-end segment.

After landing in India, Xiaomi has chosen Paris to raise the curtain on PocoPhone F1. This bolide presented in the capital where the International Automobile Federation (FIA) is based, aims to take off the stickers at full speed from its rivals.

The new Pocophone F1 starts with all the accessories of a top-of-the-line smartphone and has nothing to envy its Xiaomi brothers or rival Galaxy Samsung or P20 Huawei.

Pocophone enters the European market with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, a processor incorporated by all current devices on the market. A processor that adds 6 or 8 GB of RAM, 64 GB for storage with versions of 128 and a battery of 4,000 milliamps with fast charging system.

Double camera

The engineers of PocoPhone have maximized the costs to reduce the price as much as possible, but the bet of the new brand of Xiaomi is in the consumer's taste.

The new F1 does not abandon the fight of cameras in the market and equips the same system as the Mi 8 presented this summer. Mount a double camera with sensors of 12 megapixels of Sony and another of Samsung, but, in this case, 5 MP. The front camera reaches, on the other hand, 20 megapixels.

In addition, the cameras include Dual Pixel technology, autofocus and the famous portrait mode that allows blur backgrounds. Like the rest of the competitors, PocoPhone relies on artificial intelligence that allows the automatic recognition of scenes and to improve the results of night photographs.

The screen, on the other hand, is of 6.18 inches and reaches a resolution of 2.246 x 1.080 pixels (Full HD +). The dimensions of the terminal are 155.5 x 75.2 x 8.8 millimeters, with a weight of 182g.

Hidden notch

And if you talk about market trends, you can not forget the Notch announced by Apple and expanded by the rest of the mobile brands. The famous black eyebrow at the top of the screen is also a characteristic note of the F1 of PocoPhone, only that, as in the case of other brands, it can also disappear with just a slide on the screen.

The terminal also incorporates an advanced facial recognition system , based on infrared, capable of identifying the user even in a room that is completely dark. "It is impossible to cheat the system," says Xiaomi.

A new mobile in the market that recalls Apple's iPhone X and even Huawei's P20, but which differs in small changes. The new F1 does not include a metal or glass body, but instead goes back to the plastic back that prevents, according to the brand, having to put a cover as protection.

And, above all, the most striking: its price. The PocoPhone of 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of memory, costs 329 euros . The version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB for storage in exchange goes up to 399 euros .
