The New York Public Library brings to Instagram the literary classics
Four out of ten Spaniards never read or almost never read, according to the latest Reading and Book Buying Barometer of 2017 published by the Federation of Publishers Guilds of Spain (FGEE).
35.1% of those who do not read, according to these data, is "because they do not like or do not like it", a figure that increases to 49.4% for readers between 25 and 34 years. The war to inculcate reading habits to the youngest is transferred to social networks.
This is the battle that started the New York Public Library (United States). The American public body has picked up classic novels and transformed them into animated stories on Instagram.
The social network has 37% of young people between 16 and 24 years old among its users and through Insta Novels, the Instagram community can access Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
A classic story adapted to the famous Instagram stories. Alicia's adventures are included in the totality and have also been extended to animation fragments and modern illustrations by Magoz.
This is the first adventure of the New York Public Library on Instagram. From this week, users of Mark Zuckerberg's universe platform can now read fragments of Alice in the Wonderland. In the coming weeks, the library has already announced the provision of the second part of Lewis Carroll's novel, The Yellow Paper by Charlotte Perkins and The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka.
